A family stay at a hostel? Super fun and practical!
A relaxed and pleasant atmosphere
At a hostel, things move along at a relaxed pace. Children are free to be a child here, and no eyebrows will be raised if your children show up still in their pyjamas in the evening or morning to the lounge or café. It’s basically just like home.
Privacy and comfort
When booking as a family, you automatically get a private room. These are known as “comfort rooms” at our family-friendly hostels and come with their own shower, WC and washbasin. In a number of youth hostels there are still rooms with a shared bathroom, these are the “standard rooms”. This information can be found per youth hostel.
Sheets and towels
Upon arrival, you will receive a set of sheets, with which you can make up your own beds. Straight away you’ve got a fun activity for the children! Towels are not included. You can bring your own towels or buy them at the hostel.
In the morning, a free continental breakfast buffet is provided. You can also reserve a hot meal at some hostels. If you are interested in this, we recommend contacting the hostel directly. Children up to 16 years of age are eligible for meals at a special discount.
Most hostels do not have a guest kitchen; however, there is often a microwave oven available in the dining room, or the staff will be pleased to heat up baby formula or baby food for you. There is a guest kitchen at the hostels in Ostend, Hasselt and Kortrijk where you can prepare a small meal.
